CHILDREN and YOUTH

Picture
 Children
Kids are the future of the church and they are a vital part of our church family.  Here is a place where they can learn about the Bible in a fun and activity oriented place.  We know kids can be rambunctious and loud and do all kinds of unexpected things, but we love them and encourage them to learn and play and have fun while learning about the Bible and what this church means to them and to this community of faith.

We have Sunday School classes for all ages of kids (even for adults who wish they were kids again!).  We want our kids to get to know who Jesus is and grow up knowing that Jesus wants them to live and love and grow into the person that God created them to be.

Sunday School is at 9:30 in Old Scots Hall.

Youth Group (not currently meeting as of 9/2021, reach out to Pastor Jessica if interested)

The youth of this church, and every other church, have lives that are so filled with the other things the world has to offer.  School, work, sports, clubs, home life, all impact the time and ability of our kids to be a part of the life of the church.  However, we offer them something that every other group can’t give them, and that is a time and place to discover the God given talents and gifts that each youth has, and gives them a place to discover how to use those gifts to enhance their lives not only within the community of faith, but also to share their love of Jesus wherever they are during their everyday lives.

Youth, when they are in 8th grade, spend the entire church school year in a Communicants Class where they learn what it means to be a child of God and how that impacts their own lives.  We teach about the church, some theology from the Reformed Tradition.  They learn the history of the church and why that is important.  They learn the traditions of this particular church so they will understand where we come from, and why we do things in a particular way.  But most importantly, we teach them what it means to be a Christian in today’s world and how to be the best ambassador for God in their circle of influence, which is the best thing we can teach and share with all of our church family.

There is a special room in Old Scots Hall just for our youth.  And there are a lot of fun things in the room.  Comfy couches and chairs are only the beginning.  Come and find out what other things there are to find (maybe a foosball table? maybe some donuts?  shhhh... don't tell anyone).  There is a Sunday school class for them as well, also at 9:30 on Sunday mornings.

The youth also meet several times a month for fun and fellowship activities.
